Our Mission

1. To preach and proclaim the liberty won for us through the death, burial, and the resurrection work of the Lord Jesus Christ . 2. To demonstrate and prove to everyone that the Lord is alive today to set the captives free from all forms of Satanic bondage. 3. To teach and explain to everyone that we have the legal rights to be free from sin, sickness, poverty, and Satanic bondage. 4. That we have been justified, reconciled, and sanctified by the finished work on Calvary Cross. 5. Through the power of faith in His atonement work, we must be healed, delivered, righteous, successful, and blessed. 6. Through His atonement work, we are saved, and when our service here is ended, we shall be with the Lord Jesus Christ in His Eternal Kingdom.

Our History

Liberation Bible Church was founded on December 1, 1991, at Abelenkpe 1 & 2 Primary School with 15 people, including Liberian refugees who became part of our founding members. Under the anointed leadership of Apostle James Nii-Aponsah, the church was birthed from a divine mandate rooted in Isaiah 61:1 - to set at liberty them that are bound. What started as a small gathering has grown through God's faithfulness, relocating from Abelenkpe to Tesano in Easter 2001, and finally to our current home in Taifa in 2011, where we now worship in the R-Bonnke Chapel - a world-class edifice seating 700-1000 people. Today, with over 300 regular attendees and apostolic influence across all 16 regions of Ghana, we remain committed to our core mission of proclaiming the liberty won for us at Calvary Cross through demonstrations of power, holistic ministry, and transformative discipleship.

Mission Statement

I am a firm believer in the vision of the Liberation Bible Church. I am committed to the vision of proclaiming the liberty won for us on Calvary Cross. I am committed to the message of liberation from sin, satanic bondages and poverty. I am liberated to serve the Lord with my time, talent and treasures. I shall advance the church goals of Membership, Maturity, Ministry, Mission and Money. I shall stand liberated, liberate others and be an instrument of liberation. Amen!!!

What We Believe

The Holy Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God, our supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice. Every word is divinely inspired and profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). The Scriptures are our final authority in all matters of doctrine and conduct.

The Trinity

We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person is fully God, co-equal, co-eternal, and distinct in their roles yet united in essence and purpose. This triune Godhead works in perfect harmony to accomplish salvation and redemption for mankind.

Salvation

We believe salvation is found through faith in Jesus Christ alone, by grace, and not by works. Jesus Christ's atoning death on Calvary Cross paid the full price for our redemption from sin, sickness, poverty, and all forms of bondage. Salvation is a free gift received by faith, resulting in complete liberation from the power of sin and the assurance of eternal life.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues and the manifestation of spiritual gifts. The Holy Spirit empowers believers for service, endows them with supernatural gifts, and enables them to live victoriously. We actively pursue and welcome the operation of all the gifts of the Spirit in our worship and ministry.

Divine Healing

We believe in divine healing and that Jesus still heals today through faith and prayer. Jesus bore our sicknesses and carried our diseases on the cross (Isaiah 53:4-5). Healing is part of the atonement and is available to all believers through prayer, laying on of hands, and the operation of spiritual gifts. We testify to numerous healings and miracles in our ministry.

Deliverance and Liberation

We believe in deliverance from demonic oppression, spiritual bondage, and all forms of captivity. Jesus came to set the captives free (Isaiah 61:1) and gave His followers authority over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). Through prayer, fasting, and the power of the Holy Spirit, we minister liberation to those bound by spiritual forces.

Second Coming

We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ to rapture His church. The Lord Jesus will come again in glory to receive His bride, the church, unto Himself. This blessed hope motivates us to live holy lives, evangelize the lost, and prepare for His return. We believe in the resurrection of the dead and the final judgment.

The Church

We believe the church is the body of Christ, called to worship, fellowship, evangelize, and disciple believers. The church is not a building but a living organism composed of born-again believers united in Christ. We are committed to Spirit-filled worship, powerful preaching, and holistic ministry that addresses body, soul, and spirit.

Baptism and Communion

We believe in water baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper as ordinances of the church. Baptism symbolizes our identification with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. Communion is a sacred remembrance of Christ's sacrifice and a proclamation of His death until He comes. These ordinances are meaningful expressions of our faith and commitment.

Spiritual Warfare

We believe in the reality of spiritual warfare and the authority given to believers to overcome the forces of darkness. Through prayer, fasting, and the blood of Jesus, we engage in battle against principalities and powers. We teach and practice spiritual warfare principles that equip believers to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

Prosperity and Blessing

We believe that God's will includes prosperity and blessing for His children. Jesus became poor that we might become rich (2 Corinthians 8:9). Through faith in Christ's atonement, we claim God's promises of health, wealth, and well-being. We reject poverty as part of the curse that Jesus bore on our behalf.

The Great Commission

We believe in the Great Commission to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Our mandate is to proclaim the liberty won at Calvary, demonstrate God's power through signs and wonders, and establish churches that continue this mission. We are committed to both local and global evangelism.

Apostle James Nii-Aponsah

General Overseer

Apostle James Nii-Aponsah started his ministry at a very young age, while in the secondary school.He served as an executive and the General Secretary of the Scripture Union (S.U.). After his O-level, he joined the Christian group Calvary Road Incorporated. He rose through the ranks and became the national prayer director of the group. The Apostle attended the University of Cape-Coast Ghana (UCC) and joined the UCC Pentecostal Fellowship (PENTEFEL). He became the Vice-president and subsequently, the President of the Fellowship.

The Apostle after his university education, started the Liberation Bible Church in the year 1991, December 1st. Apostle James Nii-Aponsah currently serves on many boards. He is the deputy general secretary of the National Association of Charismatic and Christian Churches (N.A.C.C.C). He is also a committee member of the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving (NDPT). He is a member of the council of Elders, LOSA and the chairman of the University of Cape Coast Pentecostal Fellowship (PENTEFEL). Apostle is married to Rev. Mrs. Evelyn Nii-Aponsah, blessed with three (3) children and four (4) grandchildren. He loves reading, praying and listening to gospel music.
